i think if you ever find someone you are comfortable with and you be together, that's like really nice. it's a blessing to find someone who accepts you for who you are and doesn't judge you and in turn you do the same. and it's also nice that you wanna stay together and get through the troubles of growing up and trials that life will eventually throw your way. most of the time, people are excited at first cos it's all nice and new, not a trouble in the history of time together, then stuff happens, and all our waters are shook and boats rocked, we start butting heads and well that's nice too because in that we can learn about ourselves, and grow the parts of ourselves through each other but it's not good when we are not ready to face those things and then we end up going our separate ways and start new with someone else until we get to those parts again. we can practice these aspects with strangers too, in how we deal with difficult information and how willing we are to take criticism, respond accordingly and even reflect upon ourselves so that we are flexible and not stagnant in our growth. i think a trust in a relationship is important, so even if you may have had bad experiences in the past, projecting it on your current relationship doesn't help your healing, it further hinders it. so for instance, you can trust someone has the capacity to remain faithful and honest with you. along with feelings, rational thinking helps too. remembering some concrete truths about one another help. i think people bounce between the mind and the heart an it can create separate reactions but when the two faculties are conjoined, then there's team effort within the individual to take a moment and meditate on what they hear or feel within themselves that allows for them to be objective and fair in dealing with difficult times. but there are no rules i think that everyone's just different and we learn differently but finding common grounds even between difficult individuals helps us all learn about a lot more than what we think we see.
